Buy yourself some new clothes

There is no need to wait for the third trimester to look into maternity clothes. No matter if you like to shop in brick-and-mortar stores or online, you can enjoy a huge range of stylish and comfy clothes made specially for people that are expecting. If you’re someone who generally enjoys shopping, why not use this activity to make yourself feel good even when pregnant?

Visit your hairdresser

While there is no reason for you to not feel beautiful during pregnancy, it can be difficult to get accustomed to certain changes your body is going through. However, although there are some things that you simply cannot control, you do have a say in how your hair will look. Therefore, book an appointment with your hairdresser and get a fresh cut, new color, or a professional blowout.

Get a manicure/pedicure

Another pampering idea includes taking a trip to a local mani/pedi salon. Depending on how far along you are, you might not even be able to see your feet anymore even though you can feel them swelling up. So, treating yourself in this way might be long overdue. Keep in mind that getting manicures and pedicures during pregnancy is typically safe but take some precautions anyway.

Take a bubble bath

Something else that can relax you when pregnant and help you recharge your batteries is taking a nice bubble bath. Baths are great in sore muscle recovery. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the bath shouldn’t be too hot as then it can be unsafe, especially during the first trimester. Go for warm water and consider keeping the bump out of the water. On the other hand, it’s recommended that you avoid spas, saunas, and hot tubs as their temperature will raise yours and potentially put the baby at risk.

Have a pregnancy massage

Even though spas are better avoided, you can still get a pregnancy massage. You can have a professional visit you at home or go to their salon but it’s essential to find someone who has pregnancy massage training in order to keep the little one safe. This is sure to soothe your tired muscles.

Make sure to rest enough

Pregnancy can oftentimes come with a lot of stress but expecting a baby during a pandemic can be especially hard on your mental health. With that in mind, it’s of the utmost importance that you take proper care of yourself. This includes getting enough rest as well. Don’t try to handle everything on your own but rely on the support system of people close to you.

Treat yourself to a nice meal

You might be experiencing all sorts of cravings but a nice meal is always welcome. So, whether you go out, order in, or have someone special make them for you, why not treat yourself to some of your favorite dishes of all time? Perhaps something you haven’t had in ages?

Go to the cinema or theater

Depending on the current safety measures in your area, you might also be able to go out and see a fun movie in the local cinema or a play in a theater. There are other alternatives if that’s not an option. For example, maybe there is a drive-in cinema you can visit or play a movie on a projector in your backyard.

Try swimming

If you’re looking for a fun activity to stay in shape while pregnant, consider swimming. The floating is sure to make you feel better as it will take pressure off your joints that are surely suffering. Whether you go to the beach or a local indoor pool, swimming doesn’t require plenty of equipment either, which is a big plus.

Read an interesting book

Last but not least, you can also pamper yourself by neglecting everything else and focusing on a good book. Regardless of whether you join a library and rent some interesting titles or decide to purchase a few that you can reread whenever, this is sure to boost your fun levels. You can maybe even start a book club with a few friends where you can discuss the latest one you’ve read.
